We hare
A 28‑second inner‑psyche masterpiece from Sarah Axelrod.
‘We Hare’ is a 28‑second inner‑psyche masterpiece from Sarah Axelrod. The opening lines dig, scratch, and claw beneath our skin, layer by layer, to reveal the emotional architecture of relationships, where desire, danger, and the everyday are defined by absence. Its trembling qualities hint at fear, anticipation, and the sense that something is about to change.
We hare
dig our holes in the ground
cool eyes, scratch and claw
the fire ring round
when you know something is there
can it not be?
Feel the trembling chainsaw
not your lover cutting tree
his collared shirt wet with flowers
bending bright in beds of green
